I am so bored and restless now.
But guess wad I'm doing.
I am at the department of epidemiology (sounds profound, doesnt it) at NUH. nothing to do at all. henry tan - the department head of a small department made up of only 3 staff (including me), wants me to observe the colleague whom i am replacing by the end of dec for these few days. so my colleague is now doing her stuff, as she has basically taught me the essentials. so wad i have now are all the theories of using the different systems to key in data. think i will only be able to get hands-on experience in a few days' time. hmm..
have been browsing the net for the past couple of hours. eyes tired now. have no more websites for me to read oredi. sigh :( but well, at least this is a relaxed job (at least fir this couple of days) and im getting paid 6.5 per hr, so just bear with it!
well, this unit is set up only after the breakout of SARS, so its a pretty young department, only 1 and 1/2 years old. basically wad we do is to tally the no of cases of pneumonia, fever and other infectious diseases (measles, mumps, rubella etc) for the previous day. not only for inpatients but also for the staff. tats y we have to keep a record of the no of MCs everyday. and my colleague just mentioned, 'our unit is 'activated' only when there is a breakout of an infectious disease like SARS'.
hmm, not a very good sign if our unit really gets 'activated' huh.
getting off from work at 6 supposedly, but colleague said they usually leave at 5.30. cool. :) of cos i wldnt mind.
and thanks renee for passing me the contacts of saatchi and saatchi yesterday. emailed the lady but have not heard anything from them yet. hmm..shall see how la
okie, i better go find myself some work to do, like filing and such. i feel like such a slacker here!
