it always feels acknowledged to be greeted with a smile. be it in the lift or train. like your presence is appreciated and ppl understand the impact of a beam on the face. it really makes your day when strangers go the extra mile to smile at you.
i walked into the office lift this morning to be greeted by this lady who was already in the lift from the basement carpark. i walked in without direct eye contact with her, but her slight nod and smile caught my attention. it was a morning greeting in silence.
the other day, i was at the DFS place oppo far east back in sg with sosan. she was interested in a DKNY watch and that particular department was situated on the highest level. while taking our casual stroll across the floors, sales ladies gave us kind of a condescending look. or else, it's a fixed stare at you from top to bottom. when we were abt to leave the store, i overheard a senior sales person raising her voice at this tourist family. im assuming they do not understand mandarin, cos the sales promoter said to another sales person in the most annoying manner, 'take it back from them, agreed to buy already but backed out the last min'. i wonder to myself, ya mean customers have no right to detract their decision at any point of the whole buying process?
im absolutely not being picky here. just some nitty gritty things i have noticed so far.
'city garden'. how much nicer and more appropriate this title can be if ppl ard us prove to be a little more courteous towards one another.
