Maybe I was too well-protected in the past. No hassle to bother, no need to make arrangements for myself, nothing too much to worry about. Hence, when I'm left by myself, things get a tad rough and independence issues start revealing. I do not like to think that I was sheltered too comfortably for the past 3 years and did not learn how to grapple with living alone. I would rather say it's more like less stuff to take care of. So when occassions occur when I have to fend for myself, okie, to a lesser extent, make arrangements for oneself, I wish for the special one to be here. I do have to clarify I am not being selfish. It is the sense of security I derive from the presence of the special one that makes me feel more protected and less helpless.
